I agree with all posts below. We should also be able to choose between managed and non-managed instances. The non-managed ones could compete with other providers such as Digital Ocean, Vultr etc.. while the managed once could offer support for those who want it.
For example, I end up paying $80+/mo for a simple 1GB effective Memcache instance with more SSD than I'd care for, but not enough RAM. Even Amazon AWS Memcache instances would be cheaper, and they are fully managed appliances (2.78GB for $66/mo).
I could have 15GB of effective memcache memory at ~$80 with Digital Ocean. I like Liquid Web for many things, but this bothers me.
